Right fielder Reggie Sanders had 3 base hits as the Toronto Sharpshooters staged a dramatic comeback over the San Diego Black Sox by a score of 5 to 4 at Rogers Centre. Toronto came through with the game-winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 2 runs using 2 hits. Wilson Betemit got things going when he lashed a single. Coco Crisp next to the plate and he cleared the fences for a two-run home run (his 1st of the season) giving Toronto the victory and sending the 48,505 home-town fans home happy. Toronto had 7 hits for the night. Neal Cotts(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Trevor Hoffman(1-1) was the loser in relief. His ERA ballooned from 1.42 to 4.26 as he allowed 2 runs without retiring a batter. Cotts and Sanders were really whooping it up in the clubhouse after the great come from behind victory. As Toronto's manager noted, 'A win like this one can do wonders for a team's attitude.' Everyone shares in the joy - the fans, the players - even you guys - it's better than winning by a dozen runs!'
