Team Highlights:

  1. Established by owner Larry Reeves, 2005 is the inaugural season for the AL expansion team, Oakland Diamond Kings.
  2. January 12, 2005 - Oakland selects 3B Adrian Beltre as their #1 draft choice (9th overall) in the 2005 Dispersal Draft.
  3. April 4, 2005 - The Diamond Kings play their first game and defeat the San Francisco Sea Lions, 7-3 at home.
  4. 2005 AL WEST DIVISION CHAMPIONS (#2 seed)
  5. October 29, 2005 - The Diamond Kings are eliminated by the Chicago Blue Knights (4-2) in the American League Championship Series.
  6. November 20, 2005 - LF Barry Bonds wins the 2005 AL Most Valuable Player Award.
  7. In 2006, the Diamond Kings finished 50 games out of first place.
  8. October 2, 2006 - After two seasons, Larry Reeves resigns as owner of the Diamond Kings.
  9. December 2, 2006 - Steve Beck returns to SPIBL after a two-year hiatus and assumes ownership of the franchise;  Renames team the Oakland Oaks.
  10. In 2007, the Oaks finished 15 games out of first place.
  11. November 22, 2007 - Owner Steve Beck resigns from SPIBL.
  12. November 27, 2007 - Jim Hart assumes ownership of franchise.
  13. December 1, 2009 - Jeff Beyel assumes ownership of Oakland franchise.
  14. December 1, 2009 - Jeff Beyel re-names team the Oakland Oaks.
  15. November 18, 2010 - Jeff Beyel resigns from SPIBL.
  16. December 23, 2010 - Seth Keichline assumes ownership of Oakland franchise.
  17. August 1, 2011 - Seth Keichline resigns from SPIBL.
  18. November 30, 2011 - Matt Foster assumes ownership of Oakland franchise, and names team the "Oakland Brewers".
